Joe Torre gets the first St. Louis hit, breaking up the no-hit bid. Koosman goes on to win his 10th game of the season as the New York Mets defeat the St. Louis Cardinals 3-1 at Busch Stadium. Jim Bibby is the losing pitcher for St. LOUIS. The Cardinals one run came via a four bagger from Ted Simmons.
