May 8th, 1960-September 11th, 1960 (NBC)
This frosty summer variety show, taped somewhere in Brooklyn, was hosted by singer Johnny Desmond and featured skater Jacqueline du Bief, the singing Skip-Jacks, the dancing Blades, and the Bob Boucher Orchestra. Ben Dova was another regular.
Singer Johnny Desmond is the host of this weekly variety-on-ice series, and champion figure skater Jacqueline du Bief is the leading female skater. Other regulars include comedy skater Ben Dova, the Skip-Jacks vocal group, and the Dancing Blades, dancers on skates.
From week to week, there will be guest appearances by other skaters, ice-specialty acts, singers and dancers.
This is a summer series consisting of 19 shows.
The melding of a musical variety hour with an ice show in a weekly series was unique. Not all of the numbers in the series were performed on ice, but there were a number of ice-skating features in each show.
