Guest: NBC newsman Frank McGee discusses the Apollo 11 space flight to the moon and back and the space program. McGee states that he has reported on all 21 space flights. Johnny confirms great coverage of space flight. Fifty hours of NBC coverage, with Frank McGee on the air for 19 of those hours, 14 hours at one stretch. McGee discusses the challenges of broadcasting such live extensive TV, and how he has to learn the terminology much of which is unknown to him. Also discussed is why the budget of the space program should be now lessened and such federal funds go to urban issues. Also discussed are Earth programs that have not been addressed as much as needed like air and ocean pollution. There is also talk of banning of cigarettes on TV. McGee mentions his early beginnings, his first journalism job in his home state of Oklahoma, working as a newscaster in Alabama for two years and how he first came to work at NBC.
