Back live on the convention floor, Bernie Eismann talks to Minnesota Governor Orville L. Freeman; it was he who put Kennedy's name into nomination. Edward R. Murrow talks to Lowell Thomas. Adlai Stevenson introduces Eleanor Roosevelt who speaks before the convention. Neil Strawser talks to the Democratic National Committee chairman Paul Butler. 3000 delegates are represented as roll call begins the 1500 vote procedure. It takes 761 votes to nominate the choice for president. We hear each state cast their votes. John Kennedy, 43, becomes the third youngest nominee in history.
